Pre-Engagement
Creating A Partnership And Building A Foundation For Success.
A Consulting team will not deliver valuable services if they work alone, above the organization. The consultants must work with members of your organization in joint pursuit of desired outcomes, each accepting responsibility for the successful attainment of the goals established for the engagement. This success is dependent upon the strength of the partnership created before the engagement begins. Our initial presentations and interviews are geared to developing a mutual understanding that forms the foundation of a successful partnership. We discuss our principles and beliefs, and we seek to understand not only the stated problem, but all the pertinent social, organizational, and the technical aspects of your company.
Setting the Goals and Determining the Value
Once we feel that we have developed an appropriate level of
understanding of your organization and its environment, we work with
you to establish the goals and objectives for the engagement, the roles
that will be assumed in achieving these objectives, and a set of
principles to govern the achievement. We will also agree upon the
value to the organization of successful achievement of each goal.
Establishing Measurement Criteria
Having established our goals, we agree upon a set of measurements of success and on the methods used in a measurement taking. We define factors that are critical to the success of the engagement , and we articulate critical assumptions. Then we assign ownership for each factor or assumption to a member of the engagement team.
